Teams
This is an event for teams of four.
Teams should comprise of: 1 female, 1 veteran (V40+) , 1 wart and 1 superstar (apparently by definition warts are not superstars?).
As warts seem scarce (and somewhat antisocial) these days teams can substitute in a new member / recruit / under 20 / Dark Peak fledgling.
Please attempt to turn up with a pre-organised team, but if you turn up as with a partial team or as individual we will put you in a team of some sort.
Use this Google Sheet link to help organise teams. If in doubt, make yourself a superstar.

Course
The route is a 4.5km loop from Upper Burbage Bridge.
Clockwise the route goes down the Green Drive bridleway below Burbage Rocks, down to the Packhorse Bridge, up to Higger Tor, and along the edge back to to Upper Burbage Bridge.
Anti-clockwise the route goes along the edge to Higger Tor, down to the Packhorse Bridge, up to the Green Drive bridleway, and along it below Burbage Rocks back to Upper Burbage Bridge.
Map below.

Running
The race consists of four legs
Leg 1 –  Pair 1 set off on the loop in opposite directions. When they meet about halfway round the loop, at or near packhorse bridge, they pass the baton then retrace their steps back to the start.
Leg 2 – When both runners from pair 1 are back pair 2 set off and repeat the above.
Leg 3 – When both runners of pair 2 are back pair 1 set off again but in the opposite direction to which they ran leg 1.
Leg 4 – When both runners of pair 1 are back Pair 2 set off again but in the opposite direction to which they ran leg 2.
The first pair back from leg 4 are the winning team.
The baton must continue in a clockwise direction at all times.
Batons will be provided.
