The ‘New’ Route will be used in 2026 staying on the Longshaw estate

Distance = 7.1km (4.4miles) with 237m (777ft) of climb (BS)

The Longshaw Sheepdog Trials is Britain’s oldest sheepdog trials, the fell race has been running in association with the trials for the last 20 years. Entry to the race gets you free entry to the sheepdog trials with a beer tent, hot food, a spitfire flyover (sometimes) and grandstand seating to the dog trials!

Route

2025 has a new route to avoid clashes with other races on the day in Burbage. The 2025 route tours the best parts of the Longshaw Estate and Grindleford Valley with fewer road crossings. very slightly shorter and less climb overall but some tricky descents and tough ascents.
