New race for 2026. Start/Finish at fixed bench by seating at NW corner of Fox House pub car park. Initially west below stile and north-west on footpath beside road (running on the tarmac is a hanging offence). Turn north through gate and up main track for full length of valley to Upper Burbage Bridge. Cross two streams below culverts and follow footpath south-southwest along Fiddler’s Elbow to southeast corner of Higgar Tor. Descend to footpath junction below Carl Walk, then left and due east steeply down to packhorse bridge across Burbage Brook. Cross bridge on main track, then very soon left onto trod/footpath climbing to main valley track again, turning left onto main track and, after 100m, right onto braided footpath climbing to cairn at south end of Burbage Rocks. Turn right and south, then south-west, following edge path past quarry edges (beware) to unfinished stone trough. Continue descending south-west on main path (don’t be tempted by contour path to left), then south-east and through two stiles to finish where you started. Full route on map.
Starts from 18:00 for slower runners, to 18:30 for the whippets. Special dispensations to set out earlier for the over 70s.
