Bingham Park

Mark & Julie led the O11 group. they did some hill technique and relays, before heading off for a run up the valley.

Paul led the younger group.

Please ensure to book-in ahead of the sessions. This is really important to make sure that things run properly.; we have enough eaders and don’t lose kids!

Whilst we are running in the parks in town, kids are leaving under their own steam at the end of sessions. This is fine, but for it to work effectively and safely for ALL, its really important that people stay until the end & only leave when the leader agrees it.

Volunteers for the future

It would be good to get more people involved in leading the groups. Please talk to one of the leaders, or get in touch with Lewis if you have the time to give to this. One of the things that we are really keen to do, is give opportunities to older teenagers to get involved with group leadership & coaching. Please get in touch if this is you!

Locations

Since October half term, we’ve been steadily moving in closer to the centre of the city; making use of our great parks. Occasionally its felt a bit pointless because we’ve had some really good weather on Sundays this winter, but its not. It is particularly hard making sure the younger group stays warm enough. In order to provide certainly over location, its important to be a bit conservative in the long range planning. After half term we start moving back out in to the peak. Personally, I’m looking forward to that. Fingers crossed for more good weather windows on Sunday mornings!

Vests

Vest come with membership. So when you sign up, or renewed, we’ll ensure that new vests and vest swaps can happen. Lewis holds the stock so talk to him at Sunday runs, or send him a message if you don’t get to those very often.

Wild camp

Saturday 9th July would seem to be a good night for the wild camp this year. A volunteer to take on the minimal organisational requirements would be good. My (weather dependant) challenge for the older kids this year is to fore-go the tent & just bivi.
