Bonuses all round this week, except for young Jack W - an indication either of how well he ran last week, or that he got even more lost in the head high bracken this time than Tom S.  Whatever the reason, Tom was for once kept in relative touch by the pursuing field, with Jack F, Paul W and (series novice) Tim Ray seizing the opportunity to climb into the top four in Simon M’s absence.  

Hop-along Keith, sporting a blackened ankle and despite all his moaning, had a particularly strong run, whilst Penny is starting to sneak quietly up on Eloise.  There were four disqualifications, at Kev’s particular insistence, for missing out the most inaccessible of all the checkpoints - a shame, since it really is quite a fine sheepfold when not buried in the bracken - and, all in all, the route seemed to be reasonably well received by a sizeable proportion of the field.  That notwithstanding, Andy B (along with the rest of Grindleford and surrounding area) couldn’t be arsed to turn up, albeit Penny & Tim Ru were there to represent the more genteel folk of Hathersage.

Next week (6th July) is a bit of a summer series classic - Way Out West.  So classic, in fact, that the SO is fleeing to Holland to avoid that final desperate climb in the sun.  Penny has kindly agreed to take charge of the results clipboard for one week only.  As ever, click on the link to find the current league standings.
