Low Bradfield Road on Mon 1st Dec 2025

12 starters, Winter Mondays

Whilst we might speculate upon the reasons for Tom S’s relative tardiness tonight, seven of the chasing pack of ten will not grumble at having gained rare bonuses on a night Tom was in attendance.  With George’s ‘heir’ Alec making his debut (George’s term, not mine), and beating his progenitor comfortably enough, it was a hat-trick of filial victories over their increasingly aged fathers.  Meanwhile, out on the road, it was good to be running from Low Bradfield again, albeit it was a tad blustery on the final long descent down Smallfield Lane to Agden Reservoir.  This proved the demise of Chris L, in his first appearance of the series following his return from his North African cycling odyssey, with his saddle-conditioned thigh going pop a mile or two short of the finish.  Better luck next time, Chris.  As the league standings attest, there are only twenty-five other series contenders for you to overhaul in the second half of the series.

Next up, it’s Upper Midhope Trail and the joys of Mickleden Edge.  See you there.
