Curbar Trail on Mon 9th Mar 2026

12 starters, Winter Mondays

Our trip south flushed out fully two new series entrants, Jim P and Sarah B, with Sarah a complete newbie; so she has some justification, we suppose, for her ‘interesting line’ from the Three Men across to Big Moor - or at least she would have had, had she not reccied the route only nine days previous with the RO (when we took careful note of the potential to go wrong at this very point).  With Jim making an impassioned plea on Sarah’s behalf not to disqualify her, it’s now game on for the grand finale to the women’s series next week.  Essentially, if only one of Sarah, Hannah, Nicky or Helen turn up, then they’ve all but got it in the bag.  Alternatively, a good run for a solitary new woman could leap frog them to numero uno.  As for the men’s competition, Paul W was another to go astray at the Three Men, taking son and eventual winner Jack, and the hotly pursuing Yateses, with him, yet Paul still managed to jump six places to claim the top spot in the league standings from Simon D.  Will this be the decisive move of the series, or will Tom S drag himself home from the tobogganing slopes of Scandinavia to seize the ultimate prize in fell running at the very last throw of the dice?

Y’all just have to come join us at Houndkirk Trail next week to find out.  We might even repair to the Norfolk Arms for a pint or two afterwards.
