A return to the regular haunt of Cutthroat Bridge today & out on to Moscar Moor.

The leaders were Jess (O11) and Michael G (U11). The U11 group got out for an exploration of Moscar Moor, below Stanage Edge and found some interesting landmarks and had a play around.

The older group went for a run out to Bamford Edge.

Lots of adventures on the bog!

Leader Training

The Club AGM is coming up in the next six weeks or so. That will confirm the training budget for the next year. This is fully anticipated to be two LiRF and one CiRF course fees. Its really important to keep bringing new leaders through, to ensure that we aren’t wholly (and unreasonably) dependant on a small group of people. So please do give this serious consideration. If we don’t manage to put two leaders through in 2022, 2023 and beyond will start to look difficult.

Should anyone wish to pursue further qualifications, I’m more than happy to support proposals.

Upcoming Sessions

Date Location Younger Older Comments
08-May Sir William Hill / Eyam Moor Lewis Tom Saville Day after Todd Crag
15-May Dennis Knoll / High Neb Jess + Beth C Michael G Great Whernside
22-May Odin Mine Helen E + Graham C Guisborough Woods

I’m fairly sure I had a volunteer to fill that last gap in the calendar for this term, but I can’t find who it was in my many & varied communications. So please let me know if it was you, or if it wasn’t and you can help anyway?

Things to come

If there are any sessions you’d like to see, locations you think we should use, or activities (such as a social) you think would be beneficial, please do let us know.

Wild Camp

The Wild Camp is still in the calendar & we are still hoping for someone to volunteer to organise* it.

(*) Organise as in a Dark Peak sort of Organise.

Burbage Skyline

Tuesday 7th June is the Burbage Skyline race. RO Paul is looking for volunteers. So if any Juniors & parents fancy marshalling, or volunteering in some capacity, please get in touch with Paul Fauset.

As for race eligibility, the race page has this to say:

DPFR encourages competent junior runners to participate.

Under FRA regulations Burbage Skyline is open to junior runners aged 16 and 17, so long as the runner is 17 by the end of the year (i.e. born before the end of 2005). Junior entrants must have the consent of your Parent or Legal Guardian before entering and taking part in an FRA Fell Race and it must be your parent or legal guardian that completes the online entry form.

I believe there is an U23 prize.

Next week

Next Saturday is the Todd Crag Junior Champs race. Lewis has the club flag if anyone attending want to take it.

Next Sunday is Eyam Moor / Sir William Hill.
The leaders are Tom Saville (Men’s Captain) – O11s & Lewis – U11s

See you next week!
Lewis
