I hope you’ve all had a good Christmas Holidays. Many of the senior runners have been chasing trig points for their informal Christmas challenge. I hope the juniors have been active through these holidays – Getting out there, having fun and adventures. Maybe, even a fancy dress race?
The New Year is upon us. Time to start thinking of what’s to come. Nobody knows how the pandemic tides will wash in and out, but we can hope and plan for the best.

After a peak and Pennine focused championship in 2021, 2022 is spread across the Lakes and North Pennines. I’ve embryonic plans to have a bus for the Trawden Races. If that works out we’d look to do the same for subsequent races. For that to happen we’ll need a volunteer to organise the logistics. Coaching and Leaders
We still have club sponsorship for leader training. We’ve got fees paid for one LiRF and one CiRF course. These are England Athletic entry level coaching licences. They teach you group management and training philosophy. They are an absolute necessity to form the core of our leaders group. Ask Lewis if you are interested in taking up this opportunity.
Just on the Horizon
This is my last full year of being Junior Organiser. I’m stepping down at 2023 AGM, unless somebody wishes to take the role on at the 2022 AGM.
Things are working well. We’ve established the organisational necessities, but the role is going to need some fresh ideas and fresh enthusiasm to take it forwards by next year.
