Since the beginning of November, the leaves on the trees have turned started to fall. One good blow and they’ll all be gone now. Despite that, its still much warmer than we’d expect, surely a climate change indicator!

It was Junior cross country this week, SYO in the Botanical Gardens and Remembrance Sunday. All of which seems to have had a marked impact on numbers for the Sunday run at Longshaw. Thanks to Kris and Jess for leading the sessions today.

Sheffield Schools cross country results are hard to come by, but the bits we do have tell us Olivia had another good race with 2nd in y6g. Dejan and Jack were 26th & 27th in their race. Indicators are thatthis rivalry will run and run. Speculation is that if they’re still going in the seniors, they’ll make a dream team pairing for relays and team events – being as they are both orienteers, could there even be a future OMM pairing there too? Late news is that Ben came in 28th in the same race. So three in a row!

Cross country from slightly further afield -A number of our runners, including Lotti & Beth were in action for the English Schools Cross Country Cup heats. Great job qualifying for these heats folks.

SYO. Saturday Series Round 3. Botanical Gardens.

Yellow: 12, Lucy Walwyn. 20, Florrie Johnston. Jack Walwyn.

Orange: 11 Lucy Walwyn.

Leaders – We are forever looking out for new group leaders. There is still a place up for grabs to get qualified as an English Athletic coach, on the entry grade Leader in Running Fitness course. A one day coaching course, or online equivalent. Please do give serious thought to taking up this offer. We can only continue to offer the Junior sessions if we have volunteers and right now, we are spread pretty thin.

Next week – There is no run on Sunday as it’s the morning after the club dinner. There is unlikely to be a blog for the next two weeks, as Lewis is away…. Unless somebody wants to take that task on?

28th is at Wyming Brook. U11 Adam. O11 Jess
