Barry and Keith did their good deed for the week by departing early and clearing a way through the bracken for the rest of the field.  Jack F took full advantage, registering his first win of the series and moving into pole position in the league standings. Everyone else except for the long-suffering Saint Keith also took advantage of Tom S’s absence by clocking bonuses, albeit Keith need not wait for his reward in heaven, achieving more immediate gratification by climbing to seventh in the overall standings.  

In a night dominated by the ‘more mature runner’, Jim P also entered the top ten, whilst Penny has leap-frogged Eloise in the race to the women’s trophy, and young Tom W is starting to creep quietly up on the rails.  We’ve seen you Thomas!

Particular thanks to Penny for minding the results clipboard this week, and to Keith for his weekly ‘disgusted of Bradfield’ email missives to the Series Organiser.  It makes my role feel just that little bit more worthwhile.

We’ve a pause in proceedings next Monday for the Trunce, then back on Monday 20th July for the seventh race of the series, the Tour of Bamford.  Here’s hoping the forecast drop in temperatures comes to pass by then; and that we see a few more young ‘uns returning to the fray.
