On a benign evening Tom smashed his own record by 3 minutes, and Simon also broke the hour after that a fair gap, Tim did well and would have finished 3rd but missed the track to the bridge and finished up the road like one or two others . A good turn out on this idiosyncratic event, no hills, check points not obvious and even the last 'hill' is lower than ground on Wet Slack Ridge, making it difficult to see and the compass helpful. I had hoped the direct line 110 degrees would prove good 'sport' [the corridor!] Past the ruined cabin and rocking stone but with runners skirting the top of Hobson Moss Dike that's probably played out, it is rough thick heather and tricky stream crossing. Well done all and especially the 2 slow Warts groups who provided 12 starters. Ideally runners should aim to finish by 8-15/30 so pick your start time accordingly so everyone off the hill and in the pub in good time.
