Boz's Birthday Run on Sat 1st Mar 2025
15 starters, Dark Peak Races LeagueOverall there were 16 of us in attendance, 12 runners and 4 more who had a social stroll to Seal Stones to watch which runners actually came that way.
A bunch of mixed starts to accommodate the varying ability levels, with a chasing pack of four with young Saville leading the charge. All four rang through the field to fill the top places.
Tom Saville was first just outside his record from the first (summer) running, followed by Tom Pape, Kris and Arthur King. First ladies were Helen and Jenny who, in the absence of Kirsty, navigated themselves and finished with map and compass in hand. They were rather chuffed and with their efforts and were going to report back to Kirsty. I'm sure she would be proud of them.
It's a tough day when you can't run your own race due to an injury but that was the case for me on this occasion so we made the most of the weather and enjoyed spectating. It was interesting watch the various lines from people coming over from Hartshorn, with a number choosing to descend into Blackden to finish. A decision I'm sure they regretted.
Refreshments were enjoyed at the Yorkshire Bridge.
