The race's namesake has unfortunately retired from partaking in his self made classic and hence, to avoid losing one of the winters best outings, a new RO was sought. Unfortunately the replacement RO took ill on the Friday before the race and felt he was in no fit condition to run. A number of brave competitors did venture out in wild conditions with sleet and lots of icy meltwater making the bogs nice and tasty. A man, like myself at times, who seems to live a more eventful life than intended.
