Edale Circle TT - men on Sun 6th Dec 2020

30 starters, DP Winter TT League 20/21 - Men

It was a great turnout with 35 people running. Well done to all who ran, especially those on the final weekend as there were stories of knee deep snow on the tops and plenty of stamina sapping mud in the valleys. Tom Saville and Majka Kunika currently have line honours... If there are any of you who are itching to run or have a second go feel free to do so and submit your time.

1 Tom Saville Dark Peak MSEN 01:51:01 Great route but not ideal conditions for a fast time - knee deep snow on tops and knee deep mud I the valley!
2 Tom Brunt Dark Peak M45 01:51:44 Wet, claggy, slippery (treacherously so coming off Mam Tor) but strangely enjoyable all the same.
3 Glen Borrell Dark Peak M40 01:54:17 Went to Hollins Cross as couldn't remimber if it was a check point. Missed the gate at Ollerbrook farm and did a short detour. Cracking route
4 Ralph Skrimshire Dark Peak M40 02:00:45 Lovely day, great route!
5 Jack Foxall Dark Peak M40 02:14:19 Had a lovely run round the Edale Circle in the sun this afternoon. Never run this before, but its now possibly my instant favourite Dark Peak race.
6 Richard Bradbury Dark Peak M45 02:14:51
7 Carl Egdell Dark Peak O45 02:15:30
8 James Halse Dark Peak M40 02:17:11 What a beast! Even if the old route was a bit shorter, Dave Taylor’s time of 1:33 sounds incredible.
9 Chris Lawson Dark Peak M45 02:17:38 I had a thoroughly enjoyable jaunt round the Edale circle route
10 Tim Rippon Dark Peak M55 02:22:45 First Rippon
11 Simon Rippon Dark Peak M55 02:24:38 Last Rippon
12 Nick Kirk Dark Peak M50 02:26:50 What an excellent route and great hill training.
13 John Webber Dark Peak M60 02:27:22 It’s a tough route with most of the climbing not on paths! I knew the last climb was going to be the hardest so I grabbed some respite by taking a trod to the ridge path which on reflection probably cost me a few minutes on the way to Lord’s Seat.
14 Roland Allatt Dark Peak MSEN 02:29:21
15 Matt Harmon Dark Peak MSEN 02:34:23 ...probably should've waited for better weather and fresher legs but had a fun time regardless
16 Lee Walker Dark Peak M40 02:38:51 Brilliant route, we both really enjoyed it. Gave me some nav practice too!
17 Basil Moss Dark Peak OSEN 02:42:33 My friend James and I ran this yesterday. We'd not done any of these before, both quite new to this. Cracking route, definitely the most exciting run I've ever done! We're not affiliated with any club, but I'm thinking of joining DPFR. (Do it! Ed.)
18 Jame Wherat 02:42:33 My friend Basil and I ran this yesterday. We'd not done any of these before, both quite new to this. Cracking route, definitely the most exciting run I've ever done! We're not affiliated with any club, but I'm thinking of joining DPFR. (Do it! Ed.)
19 Mick Cochrane Dark Peak M70 02:49:50 Was doing ok until the descent to Upper Booth
20 Jim Paxman Dark Peak M60 02:51:44 I ran bits of Edale Circle this afternoon and walked the rest. I’m pleased having taken 2 or 3 minutes off my time from 2016. I’m in awe of Dave Taylor’s 1:33:01 and have the utmost respect for those who have gone round in under 2 hours!
