Cakes of Bread on Wed 17th Apr 2019
38 starters, Dark Peak Races LeagueThere was an excellent turn out for the 36th running of the Cakes, and a few organic wholemeal Cakes of Bread were doled out to the prize winners. Everyone else got more for their money as the course proved fairly long and rough for a spring evening. The light had well gone as the last 4 runners crashed through the undergrowth. With the top 5 close together there was a proper race on, which Oli eventually won. Pete had run hard on Monday, as a few others had in the summer series, and this might have taken the edge of his run. Excellent run by Dave Allen to post a fast time, especially for a man of his youth. Megan was also a clear winner in the Women's race.

PS. Apologies to Dave Sykes and any others who, confused by my over elaboration of the way to Pike Lowe, went to the real ?Near far Clough, loosing a few minutes.
