19 starters, Dark Peak Races LeagueWith Bleaklow white after overnight snow we set off in Wintry conditions ,with a skin of ice in the puddles and a coating of snow approaching wet stones making it rather cold on the toes. By the time we reached Fairholmes it was virtually spring with children gambolling around like Lambs.
Young Tim[Rutter] sped round in a very respectable time but only 3 runners were inside 2-20, it was great to see Roger leading the chase over High stones with Adrian hanging in for 6th overall. Once again there were no women venturing out and the overall numbers are nearly half in the heyday. The vegetation from Cranberry back to Cogman is very challenging and certainly more difficult than a few years ago.
