Somme Memorial Time Trial on Fri 1st Jul 2016
30 startersThe Memorial time trial was great for some brilliant walk-abouts and dramatic weather.
The event got off to a good start when the first control was stolen in the two hours from putting it out to the first runner getting there. By next morning other markers had been moved or pinched as well.
I think someone thought that the Union Jacks were representative of BREXIT triumphalism.
A fine run by Tom Saville to win it and a very good effort by ever young Dave Lockwood.
The course was on easy familiar ground but still troubled some.
Thank you to Helen for organising a children's race with extensive confectionery prizes which proved popular and for which the results are included below.
Helen Ullathorne put on a very thought provoking exhibition about the Sheffield Pals so thank you for that.
