The Stanbury Splash/Stoop prize giving lived up to its billing with goodies down to thirtieth place, or thereabouts, and Soreen banana bread and sweets scattered to the four corners of the pub. DP honours in the first Carshare League counter of the year to Mike Nolan, most scarred shins prize on a snowy and icy course to Ralph Skrimshire, and - hallelujah - first DP woman today was indeed a woman, with Rose Paxman coming in hot on the heels of old man Jim P. With the third member of the Paxman vehicle skating around the course in road shoes, the Nolan dream team took the team prize on this occasion, with all concerned agreeing 'it's a pleasant little outing for mid-Jan. Good also to see Carshare himself in attendance.

Because of the snow, the shorter Stoop course was used, so we may have a good reason to return again in January next year. A pleasant little new year blast, even if it can be a bit of a pig to find the start.
