Hunter Wreck on Wed 8th Oct 2014

22 starters

What a splendid night out ,the storm had blown through and the full moon refected in the ponds .Perhaps one could generously say runners were blinded to the real direction of the last check point ,d sped onto to Thornseat Delf .On cresting Wet slacks ridge this is ,indeed the highest point ,and although Emlin looks impressive from the East one descends 70 mtrs to it ! However that was the least of some folks worries as they ,as usual ,over shot the wreck by straying too far right. Dave Sykes who was to cock up no 3 went straight to it .For those who bemoan its whereabouts it is in the first feeder stream of Oaken clough ,and the crater /debis are obvious. A bearing to the left of Brusten croft pond [on my map] will do nicely.perhaps a low key Marshall could be considered at CP2 but it would spoil the fun.

No problem with finding the wreck for me ... but clearly took utterly the wrong bearing from there to what should have been Emlin Trig, but instead proved to be somewhere else entirely.  See track for instant gratification.  Willy
