Just half a dozen travellers for the second Carshare fixture of the year, but the first honorary woman ain't complaining as he came in with a rare victory over the MV50 and 60s, and indeed his fellow MV40. Clearly the women themselves had sensed their competition was on fire and had wisely chosen to stay away. Meanwhile, much nearer the front, Dave Lund was once more enhancing his growing reputation, and unlike last year's outing around the Pendle Cloughs, he was not on this occasion in the leading group that went wrong, but rather in the chasing group that stole a march on some wayward navigators ahead. 'Twas considerably colder than we'd expected, with clag hanging thickly around the trig and a stiff breeze throughout, but once again Pendle did not disappoint - every one of the three different race routes I've run there is a cracker in its different way, and the soup and cake afterwards were up to their usual standards too.
