Well - so where is Hancock wood pond-last c.p - surprise its in Hancock wood. At least 3 eager lads past me after Cogman - looking good for 2-40 - but then returned somewhat later, admitting they has not found the delightful c.p - often visited by the Warts. However their little variation seems to have been nothing compared to Jim F and John who happily enjoyed the banks of Abbey brook ,before considering that perhaps Cogman cabin was indeed further back. In the glorious conditions they like the trio earlier mentioned [Dave/Simon/Andy B] thought nothing of using local knowledge - or getting a map out.
A grand morning - with most bogs frozen.The 8-45 start - for slow/plaintive joggers produced 9 starters - with 16 in the proper racing start and only 2 speedy backmarkers--not surprisingly -except for Rob Little-it might take some working out who started when! It is not long ago that the winner was posting sub 1-50 times,with a good number inside 2 hours-this is a real classic and deserves some competition-next year is the 30th running-same course.
