JOHN EDWARDS – A short remembrance

Glorious weather in Buttermere greeted us for this marvellous short race up the slopes of Whiteside, crazy descent obligatory. Will was out of the starting gate like a bullet and Tom climbed well to the turn point and made an understandably cautious descent on his come back from a bad injury. Rhys, instead of leading the way cheered us all on from the side lines nursing his head from the night before. A note for you slightly older Dark Peak runners, the loudest cheer of the day went to 79 year old Jack Escrit when he crossed the line - and not in last place!
As well as the senior fell race there were junior races, sheep shows, Cumberland wrestling and the amazing hound dog trails. Put it in your calendar for next year’s school holidays.
