Sale Fell on Sat 19th Nov 2011
Just off the A66 near Basenthwaite behind The Pheasant Inn lies Sale Fell. Many of you will have driven past, few of you will have set foot on it. I recommend that you do if you ever have a spare hour or so and in the area.
The race was organised by Cumberland Fellrunners, open to everyone, but the focus was on gaining team points and not on individual times. The first 100 runners all score points with first place scoring 100 points, second 99 points and third 98 points and so on.
Ricky Lightfoot should have been the run away winner but he decided to help his team mates by opening and closing all the gates for the six runners. Running to the finish line he received a friendly push from Richard which put him back into second. CFR were close winners of the team prize, 20% off at Up and Running, Keswick.
