Torrential conditions prior to, and after, the race made for perilous underfoot conditions especially on the descents to the Three Shire Stone and down to Blea Tarn. Fortunately during the race conditions largely abated with broken mist smoking in and around the hills. On a personal note I took irrational pleasure from squeaking into the top half of the race results – just !
