331 starters, Local LeagueBig field again which necessitated a good (if random) 2+ laps of the field to spread everyone out. Usual fast start with the climbers taking over on the ascent through Haywood and the runners chasing them down through Longshaw and Padley. I tried an unsucessful detour in the rough ground and lost 30 seconds or so which contributed to my downfall as first local. New fisherman's steps at the end of the river crossing made for a civilised finish. Thanks to everyone for turning out and the organisers for putting on another great race. MN
