A hot but, after the first couple of hours, thankfully not too hot day out on some fine Lakeland fells.  A very healthy DP turnout, with first lady (Nicky), first MV40 (Mike), first team (Mike, Jon & Matt), and third MV50 (Jim T). Particular congrats to Jim for his first prize-winning endeavours on the fells - and who better to receive the spoils from than Jos Naylor himself?
 
Tim, by a comfortable margin, led the rest of the also-rans home, whilst Rob's truly impressive pre-race preparations (tapering, no alcohol for a week, and a very distinguished haircut) appear chiefly to have provided just the motivation Lewis needed to put in an especially fine performance in his first Ennerdale outing.  Gave your correspondent a real shock when Lewis appeared in my rear view mirror somewhere near Gable and refused to budge for most of the run in from there.
 
Commiserations to Roy (and to any other potential Pertex recipients this year).  What initially seemed like the icing (allegedly) on the Burbage cake, turned out to be a deliberate descent into Wasdale as the quickest escape route for a badly turned ankle.
