111 startersSince I was away on holiday in Cumbria I grabbed opportunity to run on a
wednesday night with both hands & ventured to Mungrisdale to run the
Blencathra Fell Race,8 miles/2700' of climb,£1 entry & no prizes.The
weather had cleared apart from the very tops as we gathered at the foot of
the fell so a good race was in prospect.A lot of climb & then a flattish bit
& then the steep climb up to the summit of Blencathra,followed by a downhill
bit,a surprisingly hard climb up Souther Fell & then a plummet off the top
to the finish.Three climbs,cheap entry & no frills - fell racing as it
should be!
