A tad chilly for May but the rain just about held off. A good turn out from the club and a succession of DP winners, including Richard Hopkinson for first MV60. The race of the day though was clearly for first LV 40 with Roger Slater, Julie Gardner and Willy Kitchen exchanging the lead several times up the final hill. The race organisers were keen to award the spoils to your correspondent, but a steward's enquiry revealed that Julie was the better qualified recipient (she kindly passed her prize of a bottle of beer my way anyway in consolation for just missing out on a first ever prize). Next year I'll be running in a dress to make sure of the spoils. WK
