14 startersIt was no surprise that times were stow; a stiff westerly breeze(!) and softening mud slowed most legs. Mike Meysner and Kev Lilley made the early running with Mike reaching the top inches in front of a struggling club secretary (making his 12th appearance in this classic). The youngsters fell away in the headwind and it was left to Jonathon to lead the chase. Further down the field Bob Berzins was struggling and even further back Graham Berry's form suggested that, injuries apart, he can't face a second trophy on his walll This could yet be Jonathon's year!
