Peak Challenge on Sat 2nd Sep 1989

Good conditions made for fast times. Although Dark Peak did not. feature among the male winners of the long race, Trish Kohn was first lady in a time much faster than the year before and just inside the course record. Dave Lockwood had an excellent run to better Martin Desforges and John Armistead. The other Dark Peak finishers were also vets with the young Jon Cant winning the short race despite stopping to wait for the rest of the field on more than one occaision!


John Herbert switched courses at Back Tor so did a much greater distance than other short course competitors! Apologies for anyone missed as club names are not given in the results. Taking the two courses together 269 started and 246 finished. On this basis our results look very impressive (even if most of the rest were walkers!).
