There was a nice local flavour to the event, especially with the children's race with prizes for most of them. And the added atmosphere of the old church hall, all the more nostalgic for its lack of renovation, took me back to my childhood. There was a little confusion regarding the results. However, the prize giving was made more interesting by the organisor confirming the results with the congregation as he went along.

104 startersRather like the Kentmere, a leading pack went astray and were disqualified for getting back about 10 minutes inside the course record. The interesting thing is that they weren't in front at the time, the course was flagged and visibility was about 20 miles. So don't follow a road runner in a C Short. The really funny thing was that they had the cheek to complain that there weren't enough flags!Ed Hutt
