138 startersI was the only Dark Peak representative on this classic 7.5 mile race with its 1700' of ascent. Lots of National Trust woodlands and steep chalk escarpments. A vandalised arrow caused some confusion among the leaders but it ws not to make any difference to my second V40 placing. The N.T. are becoming increasingly worried about erosion but with only 138 entries out of an imposed limit of 180, their fears were somewhat allayed.
