didn't materialise. However, hard dry ground and still air
produced fast conditions and Andrew Ward's winning time was the
third fastest in the last eleven years. As usual veterans were
well up the field with Billy Wilson first super-vet placed 32nd.
Jacky Smith had almost a minute in hand in being first lady in a
time just 10 seconds slower than her winning time of 1985.
