29 startersWith no Tett, Harmer or Patterson, the Crashout saw an
exciting battle for a new name on the roll of honour.
Unfortunately, the race will be remembered more for the way that
three way battle finished. In the final metres of the descent as
Jon Cant edged out a few yards lead, Graham Berry in second place
found a hole which helped separate his ligaments from his ankle,
despite the agony, Graham limped over the line in 3rd place only
28 seconds behind the winner! It put an end to an excellent
summer season for Graham and everyone hopes to see him fit again
soon [in time for the club champs?]. A fine run too by Phil
Crowson who challenged Jon and Graham throughout, eventually
taking second place.
