The weather this year was clear and warm; the sponges were most welcome at the frequent feeding stations. It\'s a race I would recommend if you are nearby, and there is the alternative of doing it as a duathlon instead if you prefer that (the 2009 race will be on 9th August).

131 startersTwo brown vests at this little race in central Switzerland. A Dark Peak raiding party had ventured there in 2003, but I think none since. It\'s an uphill only race of course, 8.5 Km with 1286 metres of climb. The first half is very steeply through woods and pasture, then there is a lengthy undulating open section, followed by a killer last kilometre to the Rugghubbel Hut at 2300m - see attached profile.The weather this year was clear and warm; the sponges were most welcome at the frequent feeding stations.
