227 startersBritish Championship (3). Just north of Dumfries. This was the veryessence of classic fell running. Durisdeer is a tiny churched hamlet, so just start in the field and set off into the hills. Clear, warm and dry. Hard climbs, steep drops, some fast running, some awkward bilberry descents. A superb place to be if it can be fitted into a holiday up there. TheVets packed well, just that Borrowdale packed higher. Seniors should have picked up points, but no Ladies. lloyd and Steve Storey retired after the first ankle turning drop, and DT was 2nd V60. A completely memorable race - and the accolade of \"Best Refreshments in Fell Running\" leaves Hayfield, due to the marvellous unlimited home baking by the Durisdeer locals.
