210 startersYet again we were fortunate and enjoyed another warm sunny evening. Those who have run the race in the rain must draw on rather long memories. Phil Bowler, who led for most of the race, ran exactly the same time as he did to win in 1991 although this time mountain bikers unaware of the race cost him a few seconds. Phil also claimed the first vets spot and veterans were much in evidence with three in the first five.
