All this served to slow times compared to last year despite the course being shortened by up to 200m by a new footpath at Alport Farm. New member Alistair Landells pulled away from Tim Tett on the climb to the trig and gradually extended his lead to record a time 15 seconds faster than Tim\'s record for the old course. However, it was generally agreed that the \'moral record\' still lies with Tim so Alistair will just have to come back next year to break the elusive 60 minute barrier. Unusually for a DPFR club event, non-veterans filled the first five places... there\'s hope yet!

35 startersThunderstorms during the afternoon before the race left some interesting conditions. Although visibility was good, Alport trig was camouflaged against a white and hazy sky making a check on the compass a good idea for the first moor. The real excitement was reserved for the river crossings, particularly the first one over the Alport which is tricky at the best of times.All this served to slow times compared to last year despite the course being shortened by up to 200m by a new footpath at Alport Farm.
