78 startersRather basic organisation with strict verbal instructions to \"Finish by yure not in the
hall by yure\" also that the path through the forest will be flagged. The weather was not up to much, it was wet and windy and clagged in for most of the race.
The flagged section wasn\'t flagged in the forest as the marshal hadn\'t up which encouraged much running round having a good time and crashing through the undergrowth like warthogs. Also after sitting on Crug Mawr for 3.5 hours, the marshals there decided they had had enough so they went home. Which was a shame for the last 15 runners who had been enjoying the forest bit earlier.
At the finish there was an underwhelming crowd of two people sitting in a car with the window open three inches for you to tell them your number through.

With fine ridge running and wonderful swooping descents, this race keeps growing on me. The sting is in a horrible stretch of forest where, unless you or are local or lucky you inevitably got lost. I wasn\'t either and did. When Jim got back it was difficult to tell which way up he was supposed to be he was so covered in mud. By the time he left the pub three hours later I think he was uncertain as to which way up he was supposed to be too.
