169 startersThe rain seemed to have cleared, but there were a couple of showers late in the race and the going was soft enough for running in the rough grass alongside the paths to sometimes be faster that the muddy paths. The Lakeland fells looked clear, but there was clag on the top of Calf. Enough clag for both Chris and Maurice to make attempts for the Pertex award, both losing 10 minutes or so with excursions off the ridge back from Calf.
