83 startersThe Lathkill race saw the best of the day's weather. This meant loads of ramblers and dogs to dodge though their encouragement was most welcome. Good, fast conditions underfoot but stile after slippy limestone stile to scramble over. Mick Stenton stayed with the leader all the way up the Dale. The sharp pull up steps out of Cales Dale burns the legs but the rest is mostly fast going. I had a good battle for 3rd over the top fields but couldn't claw Mick back.
