This year's race was interesting when some ultra-fast marathon runner shot off at the start, never to reappear from the mysteries of Cannock Chase. He did apparently revisit the finish to retire gracefully. Mark maintained a strong club showing at this race, even going back to the distant 1980s - when Malcolm seems to have won it three years running. Never to be missed are the organizer's mum's special baking - worth the trip whatever else happens.
