9 startersThe 2001 biathlon wasn't  publicised very widely but on a beautiful hot morning there were 9 individuals and one pair who turned up to compete. I decided that the role of bike minder was more suited to a man of my age and fitness .
There were the usual stories of time lost and great routes found across the moor. Everyone found the conditions very hot, notably Mister Harmer , but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves in the usual masochistic way. I may organise some different biathlon events based on the Sportsman if people are interested. Also as Mark and Dave have established the precedent of competing as a team I guess that can be allowed in future events too. - Howard Swindells
