Kinder Springs on Sun 30th Jul 2006

We had 20 runners, with only 9 setting off on time. So some really sensible adapting to suit needs. Saturday:- "Six of us did the springs today. Not as a race, we regrouped at each spring (apart from 4). Tom Westgate, Tim Hawley and Chris Barber came back over the top by Fairbrook and took 2:44. Roger Slater and Andy Moore set of in the same direction, but then cut down the main Fairbrook path. I cut down more directly and caught them. But we went along the river, so we were much slower. Sunday:- A commendable choice of start times, so everyone ended up at the Tea Wagon for refreshments. DPFR navigational skills weren't too evident , some of the Springs were missed, but who cares... Even with overnight rain the plateau was dry, not a trickle at the Downfall. We all took different lines from Sandy Heys to Noe Stool, via the Trig, via Edale Cross, via Crowden or direct. Two excellent trips round : if you're envious - don't let these Peak Classics wither, fade and drop...
