A chance to sneak away for maximum local league points (does Mike P still record them?) was ruined when Mick Stenton turned up to get a brilliant second. I would have run him much closer had each of the 20 gritstone stiles not been such a tight fit for the thunder thighs. A fast scenic course with a top view of the castle as the reward once you've finished the climbing. Mandy receieved invaluable encouragement all the way round from a bloke in a Tutu (and you thought my leopardskin shorts are eccentric!). A glass of Champagne at the award ceremony added a touch of class to the proceedings, coupled with a top Windy Vindy on the way home in the 'Bath Balti' made it a great way to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. I think the full results got put out at the Vicar's sheep roast, but by then the beer and bhajis were calling.
