A note on race categories here
Export resultWith the impending shutting of the A57 which is going to limit club outings to the West for a while, and following some discussions amongst some Wednesday regulars on best club races where this got mentioned, a unilateral decision was made to run this in our 50th anniversary year as Wednesday night race earlier on in the season (sorry Willy) before the bracken gets up on the firebreak. After the torrential showers earlier, we lucked out (relatively) in that it was mostly dry, though quite wet underfoot in places, and very blustery on the edge path. Almost all 4 seasons in a race.
Great running by Tom Saville to be the only runner in under 50 mins, and first female to Des in a very respectable 1:08 despite having done Bruce’s Crown round at the weekend. Great to see Tom Westgate and Roy out joining us, and thanks for sensibly opting for an earlier start.
Everyone got back without needing a head torch (just).
Given the positive feedback, it might be run at a similar time next year.
Apologies if details aren’t quite right – rubbish pen means that some of the writing isn’t fully legible so I’ve best guessed, and Copilot just gave up.
Thanks to everyone who raced – we’ve not had this sort of attendance at a club race since the champs, so great to see there’s good appetite for esoteric races. And if you liked this, you’ll love the Summer Series races.
