Barry, James, Harry (aka Arthur) and Mike all joined us for the first evening running of this particular route, with the later starters having to contend with a trickier task to identify the correct descent off the edge.  So impressed was your correspondent by the harvest moon in front of him that - notwithstanding it was still light - he overshot the true line of descent by a couple of hundred metres, resulting in an amount of unsolicited tussock bashing.  Kev, by contrast, undershot it by a country mile; much to Keith’s delight as we watched young Mr Saville’s head torch make its painfully circuitous route down off the hill.  Keith will be happier still, with Martyn, to have earned the first bonus points of the series for bettering their respective points scores from last week.  Updated league standings here.  Where a ten point bonus has been added to a runner’s score, this is indicated by the use of bold figures.

Next up is Strines Trail, when we can expect everyone will need their torches.
