This was run considerably later in the year than 2024 so much more bracken to contend with. 6 runners chose to brave the undergrowth with various others heading off for a more leisurely outing. Considerably indecision and variation of routes up to the edge spread the field out early on, with Simon and I emerging first. The tussocks did not disappoint across the top. After that everything went just fine, well for me anyway: I was very surprised to finish several minutes ahead of anyone else simply by running through grindleford the correct way, there were mutterings of complaint about the removal of a finger post...
Lisa watson won the womans race despite being hampered by Scout and litter picking on the way. This success was assured by using the strategy of being the only woman
So the series appears to be being lead by me in the men and des in the women, all to play for in the very long edale outing...with a small handful of people who could complete the 3, however, a clash with the hodgsons relays may scupper that so will move it to a later date (25th Oct)
