A good turn out for this one on a chilly but nice summers eve, with 13 mostly youthful contenders and a number of round the parish virgins who looked somewhat bewildered by the entire idea on the startline. David hakes had been doing his research regarding access through the local quarries and had also identified several bridleways hidden by the parish line on the map. Must bear that one in mind in the future. This led to some last minute adjustments to route for a few. A significant amount of variance of route choice on this one. A number of people opted for the much longer road route via Abney to avoid the joys of Bretton Clough river bashing, which is definitely a shame as it was clearly the whole point of the route, sigh, but all within the rules. The RO managed to cut into the boundary at the river so dutifully docked himself 1 minute to drop into 3rd. Won by Felix and John who held hands the entire way round with Des winning the womans race (of 2).
Next race Highlow not far from this one June 25th. Not one to miss.
